I’m hosting my first contest ever!
THE DETAILS:
What do I have to do? Click Here, sign up for a Kudzu.com (completely free, and they won’t spam you), and write honest reviews on products and services from your local businesses.
What do you get out of this? Every *valid review completed will result in a $.75 donation from Kudzu.com to the Clay Elementary School PTA for donations to the Art, PE, Music, and Technology classes.
Why are you posting this on your blog instead of letting the parents and teachers participate? Because, this is a test run for the Kudzu.com fundraiser. If you can help us make this a successful fundraiser, it’ll go a long way toward showing the parents and teachers that there IS a better way to raise money than sending our children and their parents out to sell junk door to door or at the office.
What do I get out of this? Up to a $200 American Express pre-paid card.
Excuse me? What do you mean “Up To $200?” For every $1000 raised, the Clay Elementary School PTA will add $20 to the American Express pre-paid card, starting at $20 and going up to $200.
How is the winner decided? Every *valid review earns you an entry in the contest. If you submit 2 reviews, you get 2 chances. There is limit to the amount of reviews you may submit. At the end of the contest, the winner will be chosen through Random.org.
When is the contest over? The contest ends on Sunday, July 6th. The Winner will be announced on July 7th.
NOW THE FINE PRINT!
1) You must email
with your username to Kudzu.com after you sign up. This way, I know who the prize belongs to when it’s time to contact the winner.
2) A valid review must meet the following standards:
- *Reviews must relate your first-hand experience with a business – not hearsay.
- *Don’t include in reviews any personal information about yourself or anyone who works for the business you are reviewing.
- *Reviews must not allege illegal activity or malpractice. If you suspect that a business has engaged in illegal activity, contact a law enforcement agency.
- *Reviews must not contain profanity, abusive or offensive language. We’ll delete these.
- *Your experience with the business or service provider should have occurred recently.
- *Use proper grammar and spelling and write the review in complete sentences. It makes your review appear more credible.
- *Do not write reviews in ALL CAPS.
- *Business owners and their employees/associates are not allowed to review themselves. Business owners can tell their story by enhancing their business listing on Kudzu.com.
- *Your review must be in your words. You can’t copy reviews from another source.
- *The companies you review must still be in business.
- *Reviews of nationwide restaurant chains (McDonalds, Golden Corral, etc.), gas station chains, movie theater chains and national or regional chain stores (Target, Wal-Mart, Home Depot, etc.) DO NOT qualify for the fundraiser. Feel free to review them on Kudzu.com, but they won’t count toward your fundraising goal. Generally, these companies offer similar services or products, so there’s not much you can write in a review to distinguish one from another. Also, reviews of local government offices, churches and volunteer organizations (any businesses listed within the Community category on Kudzu.com) DO NOT count toward the fundraiser goal.
- *Reviews not meeting our fundraising terms and conditions or deemed inappropriate by Kudzu.com do not qualify for the fundraiser.

3) Members of my family and officers of the PTA are not eligible to receive the prize, no matter how many reviews they post!
I think that’s it. If you have any questions, please let me know or just go to the FAQ page on Kudzu. From Momma and all of the students at Clay Elementary School, we thank you in advance for your help!
