Seven Questions – Changing Your Life a Week At A Time

by Momma · 8 comments

I’ve had less time to read the Link Love and Carnival/Festival posts lately. A travesty, I know, but I plan to begin remedying today. When I started skimming my feed reader this morning, I found a post by John Chow that linked to Alex Shalman’s Seven Questions That Will Change Your Life.  After reading The Questions, I realized that they really DO have the power to change your life, if you actually ask them of yourself.. and answer.

In the spirit of scientific research, I’m going to start answering them myself.  I’ll answer them weekly for a month, just to see if it really does make a difference in my daily life.  What about you?  Won’t you join me?  Here are the questions!

1. What will I try to improve on next week?
2. What was I most proud of this week?
3. What was my biggest accomplishment this week?
4. What have I done to get closer to my life goals this week?
5. What was hard for me this week, and why?
6. What was my biggest waste of time this week?
7. What did I do this week that made me ashamed?

 My Answers:

1) What will I try to improve on next week?  I will start sticking to my writing schedule, on both the book and this blog.

2) What was I most proud of this week? I was most proud that a post I made has garnered some attention that I didn’t expect, and could be bringing some exciting things into my life.  Cryptic, yes.. but very awesome for me personally.

3) What was my biggest accomplishment this week?  I can’t say that there was a lot on the accomplishment front this week.   My blog post about the Free Xbox 360 and Free Halo 3 appears to have gone viral, with more than 450 page views on that one article in a matter of hours.  That is more a matter of luck than accomplishment though, so I’m going to make a concerted effort to have a good accomplishment next week.

4) What have I done to get closer to my goals this week?  Very little.  It’s been a lazy week.  Next week will be better!

5) What was hard for me this week?  And why?  Finding my motivation this week has been very hard.  I allow entirely too many distractions into my life.

6) What was my biggest waste of time this week?  Purposelessness (is that even a word?).  I have mindlessly frittered away days worth of time I should have spent working on my goals.

7) What did I do this week that made me ashamed?  I made several “dates” to go to the gym and workout with Mark and always allowed something to “come up”.  I’ve made promises to myself to go to the gym, and have broken them as well.  My health is worth more than this.

Catch up with me next Tuesday to find out how my week has gone.  Until then, I am tagging Pete at Bible Money Matters, Angie at Thrifty Florida Mama, and Single Guy at Single Guy Money to join me in the Seven Questions Test.
