What’s on your shopping list?

A few weeks ago, trying to get a jump on the season, I asked all of the children for their Christmas gift wish lists.  I’m always astounded in the LITTLE ways that our children show their differences.

13 year old Moonbeam immediately left the room, went to her sister’s book case, pulled down a book and pulled out her list to hand to me.  Hmmm.. guess she was thinking about it.

My 11 year old Pollywog (not to be outdone) came back an hour or so later with her list colorfully done with alternating list items written in Christmas red and green.

Last night, 16 year old turtle pulled out her artist’s pad and pencil sketched drawings of all of the items on her list and turned it in with a grin.

:) Our young college women replied via email and we haven’t gotten anything yet from the little man.

One thing I noticed about their lists (well our college aged daughters didn’t have a list… just one item each) is that they all contained some pretty practical wishes.  Nothing outlandish this year.  Nobody asked for a pony or a car or a trip to Spain.  I guess the frugal living mindset is really trickling down to all of them.

Seeing their excitement … and all their lists… is starting to get me in the mood for the holidays.  So I’m nosy… what’s on your list?  Care to share what you’re hoping for this Christmas/Hanukkah/Yule/gift giving season?

I really don’t have much on my list for myself this year.

My mom keeps calling to ask, and after “earrings – not “real” jewelry, the funky kind like from Target… maybe some with jet beads, and some of those 5 for $5 socks from Walmart”, I pretty much drew a blank.

Mainly I’d like to have time to create some nice things as gifts for my family, and I’d like everyone I love to be healthy and happy at Christmas.

My stand by answer is “something hand made”. Of course, now I’m running out of space!

Always the difficult one, aren’t you? ;)

If you go to Mypoints.com … you get double points for Old Navy today… and they have a TON of those great fleece and/or fuzzy socks for $5 each.
